Job Summary
We are seeking skilled and compassionate Staff Nurses for Radiotherapy (RT) and Brachytherapy units to support oncologists and radiation teams in delivering safe, precise, and patient-centric cancer care. The role involves patient preparation, clinical assistance, monitoring, and coordination throughout radiation treatment procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Radiotherapy (RT) Nursing:
Prepare patients for radiotherapy sessions and ensure correct positioning.
Assist radiation oncologists and technologists during treatment procedures.
Monitor patients before, during, and after RT sessions for any discomfort or reactions.
Educate patients and caregivers about RT procedures, precautions, and side-effect management.
Brachytherapy Nursing:
Assist doctors during brachytherapy procedures, including patient preparation and post-procedure care.
Monitor vitals and patient condition before and after brachytherapy.
Maintain sterility, radiation safety, and infection control protocols.
Provide post-procedure care instructions and emotional support to patients.
Documentation & Safety:
Maintain accurate nursing records, treatment charts, and consent documentation.
Follow radiation safety guidelines and hospital SOPs strictly.
Coordinate with wards, OT, anesthesia, and recovery units as required.
Ensure patient dignity, comfort, and confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
GNM / B.Sc Nursing with valid nursing council registration.
1–3 years of experience in Radiotherapy / Oncology nursing preferred.
Freshers with oncology training or strong interest in RT may be considered.
Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of radiation safety and oncology nursing practices.
Strong patient care and observation skills.
Ability to work calmly in high-precision treatment environments.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
